I read Zenn Scarlett pretty much based on the cover, i'm going to be honest, i hadn't read many sci-fi books (barely 5) in the last couple of years, i didn't really enjoy that genre but i decided to give it ago, second chances and all that. The blurb looked promising and the cover was breath-taking. I started the novel with no expectations whatsoever and finished with a completely new perspective of the genre. Maybe i did enjoy sci-fi...if it was like Zenn Scarlett..
Series: Zenn Scarlett #2
Author: Christian Schoon
Publisher: Strange Chemistry
Expected Publication: April 1st 2014
Zenn Scarlett’s novice year of exoveterinarian training on Mars isn’t quite going to plan…
After barely surviving a plot to destroy her school and its menagerie of alien patients, could things at the Ciscan cloister get any worse? Yes. Yes they could: Zenn’s absent father Warra Scarlett has suddenly ceased all communication with her. Desperate to learn what’s become of him, Zenn stows away aboard the Helen of Troy, a starliner powered by one of the immense, dimension-jumping beasts known as Indra.
With her is Liam Tucker, a towner boy who is either very fond of her, very dangerous to her, or both. On the verge of learning the truth about her dad, Zenn’s quest suddenly catapults her and Liam thousands of light years beyond known space, and into the dark heart of a monstrous conspiracy. Braving a gauntlet of lethal environments and unearthly life forms, her courage and exovet skills will now be tested as never before.
With the fate of entire worlds hanging in the balance, Zenn is racing headlong into trouble… again. - from goodreads
Fast forward about a month and i heard there was going to be a second book (YAY!) with a really pretty name (DOUBLE YAY!) and then i saw the cover (TRIPLE YAY). Seriously. I never thought i'd say this but i am SO EXCITED FOR THIS BOOK IT IS A SCI-FI BUT I DON'R CARE I REALLY WANT IT NOW AND APRIL IS WAY TOO LONG TO WAIT.
Maybe i should just dive into the cover?
Or just imagine what it will be like.
*strums lip*
I could bribe the author to give me an advanced copy?
*stares into distance wearing a look of steely determination on face*
i could wait?....
What are you fangirling for? A book from series? Or a novel you have heard so much about that you just want to read it already!?

  1. I REALLY want to read Zenn Scarlett! Whereas it didn't sound too good to you because of the sci-fi aspect, I LOVED the sound of it the first time I heard of it! IT SOUNDS AND LOOKS AMAZING! The sequel's cover is gorgeous too!

Love this new feature - may have to join! ;D

    1. I thought that about the sci-fi part. but i LOVED it. and yess the cover <333

  2. Hi. Thanks for the Zenn-luv and sorry about the wait - but as you know, even tho traditional publishing can move at the pace of an Encharan fighting slug, if everyone along the line is doing their jobs, the results usually make up for the slow-motion motion. And personally, my publishing life really benefits from having the Strange Chemistry word-wizards along for the ride, so it's totally worth it from my side of the magic window. Also: "strums lip." I love this phrase! Anyway, thanks again for the mention. Now, back to work... ;)
