Showcase Sunday #1 - 'The I Requested Too Many Books Edition'.

09 September 2012

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky over at Books, Biscuits And Tea.

As this is my first ever Showcase Sunday I am going to do the last two weeks of a great opening! LOL. I got a ton of books that I am now banning myself from reading until I have reviewed the books I have already read but unfortunately, I have library books too which I can't keep my hands off...
Due to the amount of books, I am just going to list them and write a word or two next to them, and then link them back to Goodreads...So..without further ado! *drum roll*

Sent For Review:

Wildthorn by Jane Eagland ; This book looks amazing and the cover is beautiful don't you think? I got a picture of the cover on the postcard Jane Eagland sent me too. :)
Whisper My Name by Jane Eagland ; I love historical novels so thank you Jane Eagland for sending me two of your books!
Mockingbird by Kathryn Erskine ; Thank you so much to the lovely Kathryn for sending me her début novel! I have already read it but..I haven't reviewed it yet *blushes* sorry! I will do it as soon as I can I know you're all dying to read some more of my amazing reviews! ;)
The Weight Of Water by Sarah Crossan ; This book is written entirely in verse...yes I know, fabulishious! I have read this one already but I promise you I am working on it...inside my head at the moment.. *.*
Throne Of Glass by Sarah J. Maas ; I've read many different, controversial reviews about this book so it'll be interesting to see what it's like, but I have to admit I squeed when I saw it had come in the post - I think I've been attacked by the Throne Of Glass hype disease so thank you lovely lady over at Bloomsbury! :D

Waves by Sharon Dogar ; I hadn't actually heard of this when I got it but it looks Ok. The reviews I read for it after I got it where very controversial so we'll see!
Life, Above All by Allan Stratton ; I've started reading this already and it seems good, I've never heard of it before and it seems like a refreshing break from the norm...have any of you read it before?
TORN by David Massey ; This was a surprise book from the publishers and it's not a book I would have picked out myself as I tend not to read a lot of war stories - well, that would be lying, I do read a lot of World War stories but that's about it. *.*
The Wolf Princess by Cathryn Constable ; This book has amazing purple pages and when it came, it was in a gorgeous silver package and was wrapped in purple tissue paper. When I opened it to see what the book was a cluster of silver and purple gems slipped out onto my bed...Aside from the lovely packaging and pages though this books looks interesting and satisfyingly magical! :D

Débutantes by Cora Harrison  ; When I got this I *physically* jumped up and down with delight, I have wanted to read this for ages and now I have it! Squeee! And look at that adorable cover!
Eight, Keys by Suzanne LaFleur ; I have read Love, Aubrey and LOVED it so so much so I was delighted when the author asked me if I wanted to review it for her. I said yes, of course, and now I have one, and it's signed to me! Don't forget you can nab you're own signed copy of this book over at my 200 Follower Appreciation giveaway...Just click on the link above this post. :D Yes, I know you love me..;)
The Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman ; I got this book as an ARC so I missed out on the lovely ( I really need to sop saying that! *scurries to the Thesaurus.* ) attractive cover! I don't actually have to review it though as I got it through a review group ad the editor realised it I actually already been reviewed so I no longer need to, but I fully intend to once I have written all my other ones.. -.-
Black Heart Blue by Louisa Reid ; Yay, another signed copy to add to my collection! LOL I've read this book already *looks guilty* and wow that is one powerful, emotive book!...You'' have to wait for my review to see what I really thought though!
[No picture] Secrets, Lies and Locker 62 by Lil Chase ; This book look interesting to I can't wait to read it! :-)

The Maze Runner by James Dashner ; I have actually already read this when it first came out but I'm not complaining! The book was awesome and I think I will review it now that I have a copy on hand and not from the library, I just want to read the other ones in the series because I really enjoyed this one!

Yes I know you're probably all breathing sighs of relief that I have finished, which is why I am not going to bore you with yet more books, this time my library haul, and I am on a strict-ish(!!) book buying ban because of the amount of books I already have to read and review!

What books did you get this week? Don't forget to link me up!

Don't Forget To Smile! :D

*Thank you to Bloomsbury, Quercus, Jane Eagland, Kathryn Erskine, Macmillan Children's Books, Luisa Plaja over at Chicklish, Louisa Reid, Suzanne LaFleur and Chicken House Publishing for providing me with these books in exchange for an honest review.

  1. Wow that is a lot of books, even in two weeks! I hope you enjoy them all. I really like The Maze Runner, Throne of Glass and especially Eight Keys! It isn't as overly emotional as Love, Aubrey, but it still got to me and I was silently crying through a lot of it.

    Happy reading :)

  2. That's a great big haul! Throne of Glass was a great read for me. The cover of Wolf Princess is gorgeous. Happy reading ;D
