FIELD NOTES | MANCHESTER

09 April 2016

Over a year ago, in winter, I walked around town with my dad and took photos for my art project. My fingers froze, my toes almost froze, but I snapped some pretty pictures so I didn't mind. I don't know my way around town at all, it's too far for me to go just to explore on a free day, but not far enough that I've never been.
I do want to explore the place again sometime, my camera in hand. Some parts are run-down, some buildings are beautiful, but apparently it's getting more artsy and hipster as the days go by so it's definitely on my to-do list. For people that have been - where would you recommend I go? (other than the obvious: manchester art gallery!)

  1. 💕💕💕 love this! Manchester Art Gallery is by far one of my favourite places in the city - it's always so peaceful. Would definitely recommend John Ryland's Library on Deansgate. (Tbh it's basically like Hogwarts inside)

  2. Beautiful photos! This place looks so serene. I have been told Manchester holds a big part of South Asian society in Britain, so I am sure I would love to come down there whenever I come to England.

    1. Ah thank you, and ooh do come, it's definitely not the 'coolest' city in the world but there are so beautiful places and it's certainly cleaning up a bit!
