#OHJOURNALETC // MARCH

05 March 2016

IT'S MARCH? how have already two months of 2016 post? it's both depressing and exciting [a. because exams are looming ever close but b. so are the summer holidays.] i don't plan on doing much other than revision really so if i am quiet on all social media fronts then that is why. my life is currently taken up by many different art projects, 'from defeat to unity': germany 1945-1991, a whole host of psychology topics and essays, the crucible by arthur miller [a very good play which i recommend you reading] and an exploration of language comparisons in life and literature. fun times, of course ---
but now onto a little recap of what #OHJOURNALETC is all about:
"#OhJournalEtc is a creative art journalling prompts project. In collaboration with Areeba, each month we are going to post four art journalling prompts on our blogs, and each week we are going to complete one of those ourselves and share them on our instagram accounts (with a monthly wrap-up post for each of the four prompts and our own art on our blogs, new prompts for next month will be announced in the wrap up post). We want to make art and inspire and we want you to do the same, so we're inviting you to join us. You can complete as many pages as you want based on the prompts we post and share them with the hashtag #ohjournaletc on instagram for everyone to see your art.
The name comes from our instagram handles. ohareeba & hawwaetc and we both do art journalling so we're mixing our love for creating art together."
[description stolen borrowed from Areeba's blog.]
MARCH PROMPTS:
1. WANDERLUST // where do you want to travel? where have you already been? are you going anywhere soon? draw/paint/create a journal spread detailing your bucket list; your dream holiday; a destination that makes you want to get up & leave spontaneously.
2. "I AM HAUNTED BY HUMANS." [the book thief by markus zusak] // one of my favourite young adult novels is narrated by death - i wonder what that says about me..
3. MADNESS // what is madness? is it a colour; a feeling; a place; a person? make art and explore what the word means to you.
4. FROM MY HE[ART] // reflect your insides on a piece of paper. nothing strange, just your average day in the life of an artist. move along now.

  6. Oh, I love these -- especially adore that you included a Glory and Gore quote. I love how whimsical your art always is, and I think my favourite in this round is the blackout poetry! <3 <3

  8. I wish I could journal like these, but I just look at it all and I don't know how. XD But ooh, those quotes by Donna Tartt are so gorgeous. I'm making terribly slow progress on The Goldfinch and I should get back to it

    1. I bet you can Shannelle..I bet you can.

THE SECRET HISTORY IS INCREDIBLE. I'm not sure about The Goldfinch, I got it out of the library at one point but then I was too busy to read it and it is so HUGE..so I gave it back as a lost cause..let me know if it's worth reading though!
