HOLIDAY TBR

24 August 2014

Where am I  right now? In the windy [and probably wet] countryside, amidst trees and mountains, in Scotland. What am I doing? Probably reading curled up on a sofa with a blanket and a steaming slice of toast. Why? English weather. Need I say more?
When packing for a holiday, the books always come first. Always. Because what else am I going to do on the 6+ hour journey in the car there and back. What else am I going to do in my last summer holiday for a while without exams and revision looming on the horizon. Read.
What books did I choose this holiday? Mostly books that have been lying on my bookshelf for a while, mostly books in a series [because those seems to be on my TBR pile a lot recently], mostly books I have been dying to read ever since I got them, but restrained myself so I would have something I knew I will like to read on holiday.
ON MY TBR A WHILE:
The Night Itself by Zoe Marriot
World After by Susan Ee
Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater
Inland by Kat Rosenfield
BOOKS IN SERIES & BOOKS I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO READ FOR AGES:
Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops & More Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops by Jen Campbell
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins
The Illusionists by Laure Eve
Unravel by Imogen Howson
She has been waiting to read HEIR OF FIRE and ISLA AND THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER for so long she is going slightly crazy. But she'll survive. Because this post is scheduled so by now I will have read both and I WILL HAVE LOVED BOTH. Also. Right now [she has three days before she leaves], she has only chosen what books to take, she doesn't know what clothes she is taking, or what hiking shoes. Hiking shoes? Yes. We will be going hiking in the rain and wind and hail so please pray she comes back from this holiday and doesn't drown in a muddy bog.

  1. Those photos are gorgeous! Eeeeep.

Okay, yes, I approve of your choices. I knew about Heir of Fire and Sinner but oh my God, you're gonna LOVE World After. It's so good and so much more bloody awesome and darker than Angelfall. Also, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer is a mindf*** of a book.

I've Inland and Unravel on my to-read list, as well. Don't know when I'll get to them, though especially because I've yet to read Linked.

I was a little disappointed in Unravel bc I liked Linked so *sigh* and I've yet to read Inland BUT IT LOOKS AWESOME and the cover. <3

  3. I don't know whether I'm more jealous your in Scotland or your that you can read that many books over the holidays. I think that World After by Susan Ee is probably among my favorite angel books.

    1. Hahha well...midge bites, so don't be jealous, BUT WE HAD SUN. Well, I'm a quick reader and yeah, probably one of my favourites, Daughter of Smoke and Bone is UNBEATABLE IN THE NO.1 SPOT THOUGH.

  4. I just absolutely love the sight of paperback books stacked, nothing beats a paperback. Although unfortunately due to space, cash, etc I have been limiting myself to buying mainly cheap e-books recently, so the sight of these new books makes me insanely jealous. And oh the English weather, you are probably not having great weather at the moment being bank holiday and all, the forecast is definitely set for showers and cold, cloudy weather. How fantastic. However I hope you enjoy being snuggled up reading these goodies. I literally just started Anna and the French Kiss the other day, and have now whipped through Lola and the Boy Next Door, but rather than following up with Isla, I thought I would savour it for myself because I do not expect it to disappoint!

    1. Paperbacks are awesome indeed, especially matt covers <3 <3 <3 Awwwh, I've never used an e-book because I don't have an e-reader but I don't really want to, nothing beats physical books. IT WAS ACTUALLY SUNNY. *keels over with shock*, apparently it was one of the hottest weeks in Scotland this summer in the week I was there!
      Oooooooooooh Anna, Lola, Isla!! <3

  5. I hope you're having (had?) a good time in Scotland! The weather at the beach when I was away was pretty miserable so I can only imagine what it's like up there, hahaha! Hopefully you're not too wet and cold. :P

  7. Just got back from holiday in the north of Scotland - wet and windy, but lots of reading to be done!!

I've not read any of those books, BUT I'd love to read more Maggie Stiefvater since I'm so loving The Raven Boys series! Also Sarah J Maas. I'm caving to peer pressure and thinking I'll have to give her a go.
