doorstep delights #10

27 June 2014

I think it's been a good two and a half months since my last doorstep delights post, maybe more; so sorry. Lots of people kept asking me when my next one would be so I did it, I did it, and putting all these books away after taking their photos made me collapse from exhaustion. Although, I then decided to re-do my bookshelf and will be *hopefully* doing a bookshelf tour soon, sometime, someday- But onto the books:
WRECK THIS JOURNAL EVERYWHERE [I love this book and the fact that it is smaller makes me love it even more because I don't then have the added stress of needing to thinking of large things to create inside it. Anyone want progress pictures?] |
LOLA AND THE BOY NEXT DOOR [read, review to come.]
DOROTHY MUST DIE [has been on my wishlist for so long and now I have it and I started it and I can't make myself carry on: help]
RUIN AND RISING [I read this last night, the whole thing; I finished at midnight, will write my review today and will carry on wallowing in the pit of feels for a long long time to come.]
LANDLINE [As you should already know, I read this book, loved it so much, have written my review which is to come, and continue to spout quotes from it in every day life: sue me.]
WINGER [This book, just, erm. No wOrDs. Read it.]
PICTURE PERFECT [Read it. Loved it. Review already up. [click here.]
THE WINNER'S CURSE [Now I know what all the hype was about. I need the second book already! Review to come, and if you're smart, you'll read it soon. And if you're not smart, why are you reading my blog? It's only for smart people..]
And now to the thanks, because this post is already extremely long: Thank you to Penguin, Usborne, Templar, Zoe, Orion, Hodder, Harper 360, Indigo, Rachel, Hot Key Books, Bloomsbury, Chicken House, Marie Louise Jensen, Kendra Leighton, Quirk Books, Guardian Children's Books, Harper Collins, Book Bridgr, Macmillan.

  5. Wow, that is an impressive haul! The only one of those I've read is How I Live Now, and really Hawwa it is one of the most beautiful books I have ever read. It will break your heart and bind it up again and break it down once more and leave you flailing. FLAILING I SAY. The bottom line is, you should read it. This is a review on my blog in which I quote some of its amazing beautiful prose:
