day one || #ukyagames - meet the [blogger] tributes

01 May 2014

it's here. finally! the first day of the #UKYAgames! i'm so excited to be sharing this project with you! [is that enough !!! now? yes?! okay!] if you've not seen the introduction post i wrote a while ago then click here. now - without further ado, meet the [blogger] tributes! get to know them, place your bookish bets [don't. they are ALL winners no matter how far they go. ;)] and then settle down, because at one thirty you will meet the rest of the tributes; the fierce, the wonderful, the fantastic: the UKYA authors themselves! bloggers, are you cringing in your boots? Or have you got this? you've got this. represent the blogging community, you can do it!
'Yo, yo, yo, my name is Zoe. I'm a UK blogger who is obsessed with more fandoms than there are stars in the sky. When I'm not reading or blogging I can be found writing, on Netflix or *trying* to learn the ukulele. Hopefully I have a chance at winning since this is the UKYA Games and not The Hunger Games... may the odds be ever in your favour.'
*waves*HELLOOOO! I'm Rita, and I can be found Weaving Pages, generally being crazy and talking about books whenever life hasn't decided to go: YOU SHALL NOT BLOG. I blame homework. Anyway, I think it's safe to say that I am 'slightly' obsessed with book boyfriends, and I have been known to sing people happy birthday in Portuguese on Twitter, because I'M THAT AWESOME. Also, I was lying when I said I'm only slightly obsessed with book boyfriends. I think that's about it, apart from the fact that I'm kind of competitive so... LETS WIN THIS THING. *moonwalks out of here*
Hi everyone! I'm Ruby and I'm the British blogger *sips tea* who lurks behind Feed Me Books Now. Naturally, I love reading (especially classics and any type of fantasy) but I also enjoy all types of art (portraits in particular) and writing in general. I'm also majorly obsessed with Sherlock, Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Buffy the Vampire Slayer… and that is pretty much all you need to know *takes another sip*.
Hello! I'm Georgia and I blog at the bibliomaniac. I like drinking tea and reading books and reading comics and fangirling about both. I'm thirteen years old, nearly fourteen. I have an unhealthy obsession with Loki. That is all :D
Hi, I'm Rebekah: writer and blogger at The Reflections of a Bookworm. If you want someone who can name "that actress from that film", I'm your girl. Unfortunately my self-preservation is way off and I am also ridiculously clumsy...which might not help in the Games...I should have thought about that...
My name is Amber and you might know me from The Mile Long Bookshelf blog. I like macarons, and my main hobby is hang gliding on doritos. I'm made up of 90% fangirl and 10% Pringle, and I overuse smileys. I think that's all you need to know about me...
Hello there. My name is Jack, and I am the blogger behind The Book Stop.  I'm also a casual cabbage/bemused broccoli/radical radish on the weekends (everyday). My hobbies include eating macarons/Pringles/chocolate, hang gliding on a Dorito, and... Well that's it, really. Hawwa has told me that I'm the only male blogger participating, so I'm gearing up to defend my cabbehj patch and win the UKYA GAMES!
Yo, I'm Tilly and I love books. No joke. I have a lot of fictional boyfriends and favourite UKYA books. I'm really excited to be involved in this! Can't say I'm going to do justice to Katniss, but I can try right? LET'S DO THIS.
Hello, I'm Debbie and I blog at Snuggling on the Sofa, and occasionally vlog too. I'm OBVIOUSLY a huge book lover and have very little willpower when it comes to books. Self diagnosed book hoarder and twitter addict, I am the ultimate queen of procrastination. Most often found skulking around bookshops or holed up in the cinema, forever a nerdfighter and always a fangirl.
Hi i’m Caroline, co-creator of Big Book, Little Book, a website dedicated to all of the books we adore across every age category. I can also be found ummming, ahhhring and Fangirling on YouTube, as a member of the Bookish Brits team.
My name is Charli and I'm a 13 year old book blogging photographer who is way too mature for my age. I have an obsession with sticky notes, Crunchies, books, Twitter, and more recently, Instagram. You can find me on Twitter @charli_taw and on Instagram @charli_toanotherworld.
Hi! My name is Sophie and I'm the blogger behind 'A Day Dreamer's World.' If you can't find me with my head in a book, or with a Word Document open in front of me, I will be procrastinating on Twitter, or drinking tea. My favourite books are 'The Hunger Games' and 'Throne of Glass' and I spend a huge amount of time listening to Imagine Dragons, movie soundtracks and movie scores(the one for Catching Fire is gorgeous).
Do you think we have a potential winner of the UKYA games here?

  2. That girl who's 90% fangirl and 10% pringle sounds interesting, I'm hoping she'll win. If she can stop hang gliding on doritos for long enough to actually participate.

  3. Sadly, I am not from the UK, but all of you bloggers have lovely introductions, though I do fear that there maybe some teacups broken.

  6. Everyone else sounds so professional and I just sound like I've been hit on the head with a rolling pin (which I have, but that's another story.) Thank you for including me, and I'm sorry for the late comment! Going through my bloglovin' feed, FINALLY! xx XD
