rainbow spines book TAG

01 July 2013

Seeing as Ruby has practically forced me to do this tag by mentioning me in hers. I GUESS I'M GONNA HAVE TO DO IT.. although admittedly it looks quite fun..Ruby got the idea from here and the aim of the tag is to choose books with covers//spines that are the same colours as a rainbow.
Here's my offering..(please forgive me for my lack of knowledge over the difference between indigo and violet..indigo is more blue-y dark purple right?!
RED: for this i chose Enna Burning by Shannon Hale. The second book to one of my favourite books ever: The Goose Girl. IF YOU HAVE NOT READ IT YOU HAVE TI READ IT! I have quite a few red spined books but this is probably by far my favourite.
Orange: I Capture The Castle by Dodie Smith was my pick for this one, purely because it was very orange-y and a favourite of mine. It was a toss up between this and the second Hunger Games but this one - because it was different, the Hunger Games has been everywhere lately, this deserves some approval too!
Yellow: Flyway by Lucy Christopher  was my only yellow spined book aside from one other. I LOVED this book. My review is coming soon. And although it's not fully yellow, with bits of white peeping through, its the best i could do! I'd never read a book by Lucy Christopher before, but having heard all the hype around Stolen i decided to give it a go, and i definitely don't regret it!
Green: I had huge problems finding a green spined book. And i realized that i only had three..after much intense digging around. One was a blue-y green (To Kill A Mockingird) one had major amounts of black in it (Crewel) so i went for The Quietness by Alison Rattle. Admittedly, it's not exactly, fully green but i couldn't find anything else appropriate and it does have a good amount of green in it, although the black mostly dominates the spine. Review should come soon - depending on my review pile...
Blue: I was originally going to go for The Fault In Our Stars but it was a hardback, so i thought that might look odd in the picture (>.<) so i decided on Finding Cherokee Brown by Siobhan Curham. It is a very absolute shade of blue that is quite startling to look at in real life..but..finally! a spine with one solid colour! *high fives myself*
Indigo: Not knowing exactly what this colour looked like (oops) i picked what i thought was the right colour spine and ended up with The School For Good and Evil by Soman Chainani. I've actually not read it yet although it looks interesting - it will probably be featuring in my book haul post i am planning soon. yes. i know. I AM DOING A BOOK HAUL POST. shocking isn't it! I warn you though, it will be LONG...i think i haven't done one for like four months. O____O
Violet: And last but not least. Violet. I chose The Wolf Princess by Cathryn Constable...because. well..BECAUSE DON'T YOU LOVE THOSE PURPLE EDGED PAGES!..and because it is most definitely purple in every sense..*sighs* the book was lovely and dreamy and magical and you can read my review here. albeit a very terrible one...
......and that is it my lovelies. Have you done this tag? If so, link me up! What did you think of my choices?

-happy reading xo-
