First Impression:
I still have tears lingering in my eyes now. a few days after the last page was turned, the last words echoing in my head, the black text swimming before me. i read it in one sitting. and although i was sat in bed; by the time i had finished i was shivering, cold all over. This book left me feeling empty, hollow, as if my heart had been ripped out and not replaced....
Seventeen-year-old Friday Brown is on the run—running to escape memories of her mother and of the family curse. And of a grandfather who’d like her to stay. She’s lost, alone and afraid.
Silence, a street kid, finds Friday and she joins him in a gang led by beautiful, charismatic Arden. When Silence is involved in a crime, the gang escapes to a ghost town in the outback. In Murungal Creek, the town of never leaving, Friday must face the ghosts of her past. She will learn that sometimes you have to stay to finish what you started—and often, before you can find out who you are, you have to become someone you were never meant to be.
There are no words to describe how i feel right now. but i will try. my very best. there is a hole in my chest where my heart used to be and Friday Brown is the culprit for this infliction, or should i say; Vikki Wakefield is.  Vikki Wakefield writes in such a way that you feel there, you are the main character. At times i would just have to tear myself away from the book and gaze into the distance, to recollect my thoughts and marvel and the pure genius of the imagery. the writing was stunning. beautiful. and so so evocative..
The characters were so diverse, and they all had there own stories to tell, it was just...gah. the right words are not coming to my mouth...speechless. that is what this book will do to you. it will render you completely silent. yet inside your head there will be hundreds of thoughts and emotions clamoring for attention.
...and the ending will destroy you. i really do not want to give any spoilers, but all i can say is, make sure you have an ample amount of tissues with you before you start, and don't beginning this book with things on your to-do list, they won't get done. even if you finish the book in one sitting like i did. you won't want to do anything but hug the book, your box of tissues and a cup of tea for the rest of the day. and to end. a gif; just to show you what you will do when you finish this book. i was not able to say it to its full effect in words;
Friday Brown made me feel. By the end, my eyes were red from crying, i was as cold as ice, and my head was still within the confines of her world. You will know as soon as you have read the prologue that this is a book that you will never forget...
Quote Love
“Some things aren't meant for this world. They're too fragile, and life breaks them.”
“I thought about loneliness. How its not something you catch and mostly we choose it. How a trouble shared is a trouble halved but things like love and joy are multiplied when you have someone to share them with.”
“I am afraid. I'm afraid of everything. I'm afraid of the dark, of closed-in spaces, of being alone and of getting too close. I'm afraid that I'll never again have the life I've always known, my feet in the dust and my heart full. I'm afraid of being alive; I'm afraid to die.”
“They all count, even the wrong turns; they all add more to who you become. Nobody wants to be a one-way street. There are signposts if you cared to look.”
"How a trouble shared is a trouble halved but things like love and joy are multiplied when you have someone to share them with."
“Watching someone you love die is like driving through a fog. You know you're headed somewhere but you can't see your hand in front of your face; you're so focused on steering without crashing that you never say the things you want to say.”
“You can't always make good choices. Sometimes you have to settle for making a choice you can live with.”
“Where you've been isn't as important as where you're headed”
“Wrong turns just added more to who you are.”

  7. I've always hated reading and I was forced to read this because of my exams, our class read this, but this book was amazing I couldn't let go of it until it was all finished. I read it in one day and half night. I waned to read more.. I wish there was a book2 or something. but the characters were just so amazing, the start is pretty boring, but the twist in the story wow. loved it...
